Who’s living it up during Spring Break?

The week began with about a foot of snow in the mountains and is ending with glorious sunshine! What have you done durning spring break? No reason not to get outside and soak up that much needed Vitamin D!

According to mayoclinic.org, as little as 10 minutes of sun exposure can help prevent deficiencies in Vitamin D. Did you know that Vitamin D has a few different forms to it? The 2 forms imoprtant for us are Vitamin D2 (made by plants) and D3 (made by human skin when exposed to the sun).

Vitamin D is very important to maintain normal levels of calcium and phospohorus in the blood, helps absorption of calcium, and can help protect against osteoporosis, high blood pressure, cancer and other diseases.

So go get yourself some Vitamin D!
