Planning Workouts

As the holidays approach, there seems to be less and less time to work out. We have to get shopping done, cook meals, have family time, and the list goes on and on. How can you ensure that you stay active? Here are some tips to keep an active lifestyle over the holiday season:

  • On Sunday nights, take a few minutes to think about what you want to do as far as workouts for the week
  • Write each workout down, so you can check it off.
  • Go online and track your workouts to stay accountable. One great website is: www.fitocracy.com
  • Workout with a partner to stay accountable.
  • Check out the group fitness schedule, try something new.
  • Try to include 20 minutes of cardiovascular exercise 3x a week and resistance training 2x a week.

If the weather is nice, do something outside!

  • Snowshoe
  • Ski
  • Snowboard
  • Nordic ski
  • Sledding
  • Snowball fight
  • Run in the snow
  • Make a snowman
