Wellness Followup

As state in a previous article there are six dimensions of wellness, and finding a balance between them will lead in becoming successful in our existence. Wellness is defined as “self –directed evolving processes of achieving full potential”.  It is an ongoing process in which we make conscious decisions to lead us toward a more successful lifestyle. In order to make these conscious decisions about our everyday life we become more self-aware. One idea to look at is how we contribute to our environment and community. Take a step back and see if how you interact in your environment and community reflects on where it is that you hoped it would be. Analyze where you stand in your community, the inhibitors and successors of the way your live your daily life, and the way you want your life to be. You can only create change if you are aware of what needs to happen, what stands in your way and what enables you to be content in your actions. Wellness is multidimensional and allows you to focus on the balance of both your body and your mind.  There are many benefits of exercising regularly and eating healthy but if you are not healthy in the way that you develop your values and belief systems you will not be successful in creating a successful existence. Take a moment to see where you are and where you want to be, how can you bridge the gap?

  1. Great post! You’re right, there is so much more to health/fitness/wellness than exercise and nutrition. We need to take care of our mind/body too!
