Cold, Windy Weather and Your Training

We get a lot of questions about exercising in the wind and colder weather.  Here are some tips to think about

  • dress in layers – and make sure you use synthetic material (cotton kills as they say), you should have the ability to strip off a layer in case you are too warm
  • protect you hands, feet, and ears – these are sensitive areas of your body with huge potential for frostbite
  • pay attention to the temperature – people have different tolerance levels to how cold they can handle – if it is below 0 degrees Fahrenheit, you may want to choose an indoor activity
  • If you are exercising when it is windy out, head in to the wind first, as best you can

Have a great day and enjoy your training!
