Bodyweight Training

Over the years, different methods of strength training have been created, evolved or disappeared. One of these methods that has been around for centuries and dates back to the ancient Greeks and Romans is simple body weight training. Body weight training is any exercise that involves using the body as resistance to perform work against gravity.  This type of training is functional because it allows one to work in a multi-planar environment. No special equipment or place is required for this type of training.  Another benefit of body weight training is it helps develop strength that incorporates more core and joint stabilization. Try a body weight exercise such as the inverted row on a Smith machine.
